This is a three sessions mini course on Collage, where children K-5 can practice creating geometric and free form shapes, positive and negative spaces and learn about Matisse’s artwork and life.

This is an 8 sessions basic course on watercolor. Kids and youth will also talk about the importance of water and about the water crisis, and how in so many different cultures, we can find water heroes that represent the power of water reminding us of its importance.

Este es un curso básico de 8 sesiones sobre acuarela. Niños y jóvenes también hablarán sobre la importancia y la crisis del agua y cómo en muchas culturas diversas, podemos encontrar heroes del agua que representan su poder y que nos recuerdan su importancia.

Weather shy or outspoken, we will use our favorite memories and pictures, reflecting about that unique combination of traits that make us who we are. We will learn and practice how to create facial portraits of ourselves and others using fun drawing tools and colors to make theses portraits speak for themselves!

Así seamos tímidos o extrovertidos, usaremos nuestros recuerdos y fotos favoritos pensando en esa combinación única que nos hace ser quienes somos. Aprenderemos y practicaremos cómo crear retratos y autorretratos faciales usando usando divertidos materiales de dibujo y colores que harán que estos retratos hablen por sí mismos!

Thinking about the meaning and use of masks; children, youth and adults will explore different materials to create their own masks inspired by the observation of masks from different cultures or countries. Painted and decorated papier maché masks will be just the final artwork of this 9 to10 sessions workshop, through which we will explore other materials and art techniques such as drawing and collage.

Pensando sobre el significado y el uso de las máscaras; niños, jóvenes y adultos explorarán diferentes materiales para crear sus propias máscara, inspiradas en la observación de máscaras de differences países y culturas. Máscaras en papel maché pintadas y decoradas serán solo la pieza final de este taller de 9 a 10 sesiones, a través del cual exploraremos otros materiales y técnicas artísticas como el dibujo y el collage.

There are Mexican artisans experts in making colorful and beautiful wooden alebrijes! In this 7 session drawing and clay workshop; kids, youth and even all kinds of adults will practice different ways to draw some of their favorite animals to give shape to their unique Alebrijes. We will use the strength and flexibility of our hands to kneed the clay and then our fine motor skills to carve and paint our own fantastic Alebrijes.
